I did this already few weeks ago in our server, to prevent the use of x-bot (uwindow.u). This is a good way, but do you know if 1.06/1.07/hov1.06/hov1.07 has the exactly same packages for all of those mentioned? Would be useful to know of at least hov versions 1.06 to 1.07 change, what packages the patch updates. Also this may prevent linux/mac users from entering the server.
And this only prevents the use of modified packages type of cheats, it does not prevent from using completely new packes to be loaded with modified rune.exe or similar. but if you can run your servers without mismatches caused by different patched versions / language versions, then inform me and I will remove "serversideonly" flag from other packages too

I removed server side only from all packages i saw they had it on (just for testing i still maybe reported of people not available to join). But i havent had any problem at the moment, maybe 1.06 people wont get in, Ill be reviewing the server logs on a daily base... Packages i removed the flag to were: IpDrv, IpServer, RuneServerAdmin, UBrowser, UWeb and UWindow It shouldnt make a difference between linux and windows clients, i think they both have the same ".u" files, at least this ones. So the eoa server is running on linux using the .u files i compiled on my windows machine and its working... As i said, ill be reviewing logs; and i still need to trick lanza into tryinto to cheat on our server

Dont worry, i did it on our server and he couldnt get in.
Logs have no traces of mismatch errors though, at least not that I know of. Logs say they just try to enter but connection closes

Knud, i cant connect to Einherjer server. I assume it's cuz i have RuneBots installed(the ones you can play against, as Counter-Strike has PODBots).

About your problem kazu, i dont have anything with your name on my logs and i keep them all, did you tried to join with some other name?. Maybe the server even took the time to log your name, not sure. Can you assure me that?. Erm about the testing stuff, it seems that lanza cant get in and cheat, so i think i did ok Oh well it was funny cause you know how he is, he told me that he couldnt cheat on your server because you completely banned him lol. Anyway its hard to trust any of his words, because he is most time lying. And others, he came to our server telling me that he had a new aimbot shit and that it was working he tried to show me that shit, but it just wasnt any cheat (i have to admit that sometimes he is fast)... i told him he wasnt cheating at all, he said "wow nice, so this bot is not noticeable, thats good" i laughed, and later he said that he wasnt cheating at all, he is still interested into the aimbot protection as well, i guess he wants to know how he got stopped And others i just found some weird logs on my server followed by a crash. Segmentation fault is a memory issue inside code. Did this happen more than once?

Mainly a segfault is a crash, yeh a memory page fault what i was wondering is if it came intentioned or it came just as a bug of the game.
No its doesnt happen often thats why im trying to find out, just the "missing class things", i mean do you get those logs as well, is the first time i see that trbp3_generic player function call tries...

Havent seen that kind of crash but then again, i haven't had a crash issue either. Or, i haven't had unstable server after starting using nixtheundead

Thanks very much merc! I already removed "hallsofvalhalla.u" as well "as junmodel" from my server packages to fix the "i cant see his skin" problem. I think trbp3 fixes it but when i load trbp3 on arena some people complain about not beeing able to join the server And i have some other mayor troubles which i want to share with you, maybe you can help me out: 1. If i load Trbp3 i cant switch the server to another game on console, like switchlevel xxxx.xxx?game=yyy no matter what i type past the "?" its ignored; im not sure maybe it was done in purpose into the trbp3 code.... do you have the same trouble? is there a workaround? 2. WebServer admin, when server is fully populated on certain admin pages, when accesing remotely, clients get disconnected by the server in the middle of the page content transfer.... any of you experienced the same? Thanks in advance!
